Largely purpose built estate with 68 beds acquired by experienced operator
Harvey Zemmel“I am delighted to have acquired these two care homes, which not only demonstrate a strong trading history but also offer us plenty of scope for further improvement and development in the future.”
HPC has confirmed the sale of two care homes in Leeds, with a combined registration of 68 beds. St Armands Court and The Hollies are located in Garforth and had been operated by the Hobman family for over 30 years. St Armands Court is an entirely purpose built property providing 40 beds, with the smaller Hollies having 28 beds in a period property which has been substantially extended and adapted.
The family-run business had always operated with strong occupancy levels and was put up for sale due to retirement. The owners had known Ian Wilkie, Director of HPC, for many years and approached the company when the time came to sell. The business has been acquired by Garforth Care Homes Ltd, whose Director, Harvey Zemmel, has over 30 years’ experience in the care sector, having previously run a number of care home groups.
Mr Zemmel said “I am delighted to have acquired these two care homes, which not only demonstrate a strong trading history but also offer us plenty of scope for further improvement and development in the future.”
Ian Wilkie of HPC, who handled the sale, commented, “Having known the Hobman family for many years, we are delighted to have been able to assist them in the sale of the business. The deal actually completed in September, but it is only now that we are able to confirm details.” He added, “We are especially pleased to have overseen the transfer of the business to Harvey Zemmel, whose knowledge and experience will undoubtedly result in the continued delivery of first class care by these two excellent care homes.”
