HPC has acted for the vendors in the sale of Meadow Lodge Care Home in Kellington, North Yorkshire. The privately owned care home is formed of an original property which has been significantly extended and refurbished, so that the majority of bedroom accommodation is purpose built. There are also attractive gardens in a plot which extends to around 0.6 acre, offering scope for further development.

Meadow Lodge had been owned and operated by the vendors, Karen Shann and David Shilton for 35 years, and the home has now been sold due to their respective retirements. The home has been acquired by a private business, which also owns and operates other care homes in the region.

The sale was handled by HPC Director Ian Wilkie, who commented, “The home has been managed to an exceptionally high standard, which is reflected in near 100% occupancy rates. We have worked with the clients now for four years and we are pleased to have successfully concluded the sale of Meadow Lodge on their behalf.”

Speaking on behalf of the vendors, Dave Shilton commented, "We were very happy with the way HPC assisted in arranging the sale of Meadow Lodge. In particular, dealing personally with Ian throughout the process meant that we were always kept up to date with developments and we benefitted enormously from his professional advice whenever we needed it. Ian's extensive knowledge of the care home sector enables him to guide and advise both vendors and prospective purchasers".

A spokesman for the purchasers said, “We are delighted to have added Meadow Lodge to our operations and were very happy with the support that Ian and Caroline at HPC provided throughout the process.”

Ian added, “We wish both Karen and Dave happy retirements and hope the purchasers continue to operate successfully in the future”.
